Installation
- Install Half-Life 1 (Steam)
- Make sure you use the
steam_legacy
beta branch, otherwise some visual glitch may happen!
- Download the releases of Counter-Strike you desire below inside the root folder of Half-Life (see below).

Troubleshooting
I see blue sparks!
You are using the default HL25's build, which contains minor visual glitches clientside, such as this one! You should use the steam_legacy
beta branch to fix these issues.
The models are frozen upon a death in CS Beta 6.x !
This is a visual glitch that seem to happen during animations. Unfortunately no solution has been found yet.
Why is the mod name ************* on my STEAM Friends?
As VALVe copyrights the name, any unofficial mod or game being named "Counter-Strike" is purposely censored by STEAM in the Friends tab. Thankfully, it has no incidence at all, and you can still correct it.
All you have to do is to modify your liblist.gam
file within your Counter-Strike mod folder and rename the game
token to the version of Counter-Strike you're playing, such as CS Beta 7.0
or CS 1.3
for instance.
